🍀 Bangers N' Smash Recipe - Chef Charles Parker 🍀

INSTRUCTIONS (for the bangers):
Bring beer and water to a rapid boil.
Place bangers in the boiling liquid, and let go for 15 minutes.
With tongs, remove the bangers and transfer to a HOT grill.
Grill bangers 3 minutes on each side, then remove from grill and let rest at least 3 minutes before cutting into.
INSTRUCTIONS (for the “smash”):
Place diced potatoes and turnips in a pot with cold water (enough water to cover by an inch), then bring to a boil.
Boil until fork tender (approximately 15-20 minutes), then drain.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the boiled potatoes and turnips, butter, milk, thyme, salt and pepper, then roughly “smash” everything together with a potato masher, leaving big chunks.
INGREDIENTS (for the bangers):
12oz dark beer of your choice (I used YeeHaw Dunkel)
24oz water
INGREDIENTS (for the “smash”):
1lb red new potatoes; unpeeled/diced
1/2lb white turnips; peeled/diced
1 cup whole milk
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
salt and pepper (to taste)
PLATING:
This is up to you! I like to put some “smash” down in the center of a plate, then top that with the grilled bangers and grilled onions. I make a root beer BBQ sauce at the restaurant, that I serve this with, but you could do any BBQ sauce you like, or do a traditional onion gravy! Goes great with sauteed green beans if another side dish is wanted!
